About our entry + judging process

The Finance Awards will follow the broad process of the main Global Good Awards, whose high standards have earned it respect and credibility throughout the sustainability world. These include:

Expert Advisory Panel, composed of leading lights in finance and sustainability, to ensure GGFA stays on point and continues to be current and relevant.

A qualified and experienced judging panel: A qualified and experienced judging panel will deliver expert scrutiny and assessment throughout the awards process: all judges will be selected for their experience across both sustainability and finance, and will all have substantial experience in making careful assessments.

Confidentiality: All judges will sign a legally binding NDA so entrants can provide essential details in confidence.

Awarding for real impact, not promises: the emphasis on scoring will be on real impact, rather than aims, targets, roadmaps or other wishful thinking: judges will be briefed to cut through the greenwash!

A thorough, four-stage judging process:

o main online judging round

o online investigative research of the top scoring entries

o judges reserve the right to ask any finalists for an interview, if they require further clarification of their application content

o final judging day, with an in-person gathering of judges at a central London location to decide on the ultimate winners

An awards ceremony where we practice what we preach: no generic ‘awards do’ in a bland hotel with black ties, stuffy ambience, and tedious speeches; instead, a lively and engaging ceremony in a leading sustainable venue, with a delicious, fully plant-based menu, and a gathering of
like-minded guests…

No hidden extras: entrants will be encouraged to use our logo, ceremony photos and video to shout about their accolades with no restriction on branding use – all free of charge.

Your step by step entry guide

Our comprehensive resources below will help you navigate the entry process.

Our key advice? Take your time. Leverage our support resources to maximise your chances of success, particularly if you’re new to awards or seeking to improve previous submissions.

Need more information? Please email Karen Sutton.

Consider if you’ll be entering

  • If you’re not already receiving specific emails about entering GGFA, you can sign up for updates here to receive the latest information about categories and submission details. They will be timely, but not too frequent.

  • Check the full timeline and add relevant dates to your diary (and those who will be supporting the entry writing).

  • Check the activities you are considering are eligible for entry.

  • Decide on the category or categories you wish to enter. You can enter more than one category.

  • Ensure you are familiar with the entry fees associated with your entry and company size and note the changes in pricing according to which deadline you meet.

Once you’ve decided to enter

  • Once entries officially open on 3 March, you can register on our entry platform, AwardStage.

  • Begin the entry process within AwardStage by creating drafts of the category, give your project a title (this can be edited later) and download the PDF of the questions for that category.

o    The questions in the application form are NOT the criteria; they are written to assist you in submitting the most relevant information for your activities and follow the criteria requirements.

o    The questions will be available before entries open, so if you wish to receive them early, please email Karen Sutton.

o    All applications are completed online, so the PDF of questions is purely so you can prepare your answers offline before you copy/paste into the online form. You can save your entry as a draft at any time and if you wish, enter another. (NB: Don’t worry – you are NOT charged or committed to your entry at any point in the process until you complete and submit)

  • Ensure you make full use of our entrant resources below whilst creating your submission.

  • Upon completion of your application, you’ll be asked whether you want to process payment by card or invoice. Click on the preferred option and the information will be detailed on screen and you’ll also be sent a copy of the invoice for your records.

o    Depending on your purchasing process, a PO no. may be accepted. If you require us to complete a supplier form, please contact us as soon as possible to avoid delaying the entry by emailing Karen Sutton. Leaving this until the deadline day may result in delays.

Utilise our resources

  • Download our handy Entry Checklist as a reminder of these steps too.

  • Read the Judges ‘Top Tips’ which we compiled from a series of ‘Ask the Judges’ webinars. Why? Because if you have an amazing story to tell, with impressive impact statistics, this five-minute read COULD make the difference between a win and not even being shortlisted! For a deeper insight, we would also recommend watching our 60 min ‘Dos and Don’ts of Award Writing’ webinar.

  • If you feel like you’d benefit from a little more support, we also offer 1-2-1 award entry consultation sessions; these are completely bespoke and confidential, to discuss your specific projects and activities.

“The Global Good Awards is by far the best awards experience I’ve had. Loved the feedback from judges (quite a rarity), and it was also the most diverse judging panel I’d ever seen.”
